HAPPPPIIIIEEEE TALKIN'

I was getting Nick ready for bed last night and we started to play around. He was being super cute so it was pretty hard to resist. Anyway, he got to doing one of his vocal stims (basically it sounded like he was barking like a dog..LOL) and I started to copy him. We both started laughing and Nick was adding more and more sounds to his repertoir. Of which I was not so talented in repeating. Suddenly Nick burst out laughing, spoke some jibberish, and then shouted "HAPPIIIEEE TALKIN!" Yes, Nick, we were Happy Talking together :)

I love this post. Actually, I've liked them all. Your blog has been helpful to me. I'm glad to have someone that feels the same and I'm not insane. We gave our son, white noise on an mp3, anyone could probably make it (waves, rain, etc). But he put words to what he was feeling, like he's never done before. He expressed that my singing, the school cafeteria, and fire drills give him headaches like a brain freeze from ice cream. HUGE for us after six years. He never expressed pain or any outward sign these things bothered him (except my singing. Most people do...lol). Now when someone says they have a headache, he tries to give them the mp3. Thank you for the posts. You're doing a great job.

Thank you very much for your kind words Anon. I am so glad you find my blog helpful. That is one of the reasons I started this blog nearly 5 years ago; so that others would not feel so alone. To know that someone out there knows how you feel and what you are going through...sometimes that is the best therapy for us as parents.Your son sounds absolutely wonderful :)
